Created by our in-house Design Department, Aesop Newtown sits comfortably in one of Sydney’s oldest and most diverse urban neighbourhoods. Its design is mindful of setting and historical context, with interior features stripped back to original bones to effect a clean, warm minimalism.
Flooring is of lime-washed timber, and the simple utilitarian counter is clad in blond Plywood, as are the shelves fitted within wall-mounted product display units framed in pale blue powder-coated metal. Lower shelves house vibrant, delicate ferns, which thrive in the city’s temperate climate and add a vivid green accent to the store’s palette.
Opposite, a wall covered in works by Melbourne-based printmakers Damon Kowarsky and Kyoko Imazu lends whimsical contrast to an otherwise unadorned interior. A vintage cane chair and table by the window invite visitors to take repose and tea.
