Aesop James Street

Evocative material and undulating form

Aesop James Street, in Brisbane’s lively Fortitude Valley, was created in partnership with Rodney Eggleston of Melbourne-based March Studio. Its design was inspired by the fluid lines of artist Anish Kapoor’s sculptures and the intriguing image of an upturned fibreglass swimming pool.

The entire interior is encased in fibreglass, its translucency effecting a welcoming, light-filled enclave. The grid-like framework is reminiscent of a boat’s internal structure, recalling languid summers spent along the Australian coastline.

Also constructed from fibreglass, a large counter housing the sales counter, demonstration sinks and product storage snakes through the centre of the space, inviting visitors to linger and explore our range at length.
