Aesop Park Royal

Just as Vancouver’s urbanity is framed by the immense natural splendour of Western Canada, our in-house Design team created an aperture into millpond calm within the context of the bustling Park Royal retail centre. The store’s interior plays with changes in scale and layered spaces that allow daily rituals and personal moments to take place as part of a joyful composition.

Upon entry, a double-height expanse of jade awaits. Grounded in handmade ceramic tiles, the room conjures the hue and magnitude of the mossy boulders and tree cover of British Columbia’s pristine landscape. A deep-set portal mediates the progression to a more intimate second chamber, while the walls’ softly rounded corners allow visitors to move organically through the space and carve out recesses for the eye to explore.

Locally sourced Verde Aqua stone tops the counters, whose curves evoke meandering watercourses. At the rear, a linen-clad seat crouches within a carved niche—a final framing device that forms a comforting enclosure.
